HISSONG NAMED GLSCL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Pitcher Travis Hissong has been named the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League Pitcher of the Week for the week of July 16-22, it was announced on Monday.

Hissong appeared in three games out of the Docs bullpen last week, recording two saves while not allowing a run with five strikeouts. He picked up the save in Dayton's 8-5 win over Grand Lake on July 18, striking out two of the three batters he faced. In the Docs' 9-4 win at Lake Erie on July 20, he fanned one and in earning the save in a 6-4 win at Cincinnati on July 22, he struck out two of the three batters he faced.

For the season, Hissong has three saves to go with a 2.03 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 13.1 innings.
